Terms of Service
Last updated: May 29, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the VoiceDOM Chrome extension and the voicedom.dev website (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension or using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Summary
- VoiceDOM is a browser extension for voice-first UI annotations, provided on a free tier and an optional one-time Pro purchase.
- You bring your own API keys for transcription providers. You are responsible for your keys and for complying with each provider's terms.
- Annotations and settings are stored locally in your browser — not on VoiceDOM servers.
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. Our liability is limited as described below.
The Service
VoiceDOM lets you select elements on web pages, record voice notes, transcribe them via third-party APIs, and export structured context for AI coding tools. Features vary by tier. We may update, add, or remove features over time without prior notice.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Accounts, tiers, and payments
Free tier
The free tier includes core annotation and transcription features using Groq, subject to you providing a valid Groq API key. There is no time limit on the free tier unless we announce otherwise on voicedom.dev.
Pro tier
VoiceDOM Pro is a one-time purchase (currently $29 USD, lifetime license) that unlocks additional features such as extra transcription providers, element screenshots, and MCP integration. Pricing shown in the extension or on voicedom.dev at the time of purchase applies.
Payments
Pro purchases are processed by ExtPay (ExtensionPay). Payment terms, refunds, and billing disputes for the purchase transaction are handled according to ExtPay's policies and applicable payment-provider rules. We do not store your payment card information.
Your API keys and third-party providers
VoiceDOM uses a bring-your-own-key model. You supply API keys for transcription providers such as Groq, OpenAI, Deepgram, and ElevenLabs. Keys are stored locally in your browser profile only.
You are solely responsible for:
- Obtaining and maintaining valid API keys and accounts with third-party providers.
- All fees charged by those providers for API usage.
- Compliance with each provider's terms of service and acceptable-use policies.
- Any content you send to those providers, including voice recordings and derived transcriptions.
VoiceDOM is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for Groq, OpenAI, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, or other third-party providers. Outages, rate limits, or policy changes on their side are outside our control.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the extension except where permitted by law.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by circumventing license checks or payment mechanisms.
- Use the Service to record or transcribe content you do not have the right to capture, where such capture would violate law or third-party rights.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the extension or Pro license except as expressly allowed by us in writing.
Your content and local data
Annotations, page URLs, selectors, transcriptions, and extension settings are stored locally on your device. You retain ownership of content you create. You are responsible for backing up or exporting data you care about. Uninstalling the extension may delete locally stored data.
For details on how data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
VoiceDOM, including the extension, website, branding, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for personal or internal business purposes in accordance with your tier. No other rights are granted.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT TRANSCRIPTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR VOICEDOM PRO IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50 USD).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights, including misuse of API keys or transcription providers.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or discontinue the Service or revoke a Pro license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the latest version. Material changes will be posted on voicedom.dev. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and VoiceDOM regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
